Anna Chlumsky is pregnant with her first child with her husband, Shaun So. The former child star of My Girl and My Girl 2, has found recent success in the HBO political comedy "Veep" opposite "Seinfeld" actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus. So far the 32-year-old actress has been doing well with her first pregnancy. Chlumsky and husband So married in 2008.
Anna rose to fame in the 1991 film My Girl, portraying Vada Sultenfuss, an 11-year-old girl who is "coming-of-age" and dealing with different emotional highs and lows. The film also stars Dan Aykroyd as her father and Jamie Lee Curtis as Akroyd's love interest. We also were treated to the iconic role of Vada's best friend Thomas, played by Macaulay Culkin. Today's news is surely making a lot of people feel pretty old.
Now 32 years old, Chlumsky's pregnancy announcement comes right after the second season of "Veep" has wrapped, leaving plenty of time for baby preparations including making a nursery and reading up on everything "baby."
"I'm feeling pretty good so far," Chlumsky, told PEOPLE. "I was really lucky - I did not have any morning sickness which was great because I was working.. We're working on getting the nursery ready. I'm being judicious with which books I read because I don't want to get overwhelmed. Most of the books have to do with how to have a worry-free pregnancy and keep the anxiety down."
The second season of "Veep" comes to HBO on April 14. Anna plays Amy Brookheimer, the Vice President's chief of staff. According the show's Wikipedia page: "She credits herself as the Vice-President's "trouble-shooter, problem-solver, issue-mediator, doubt-remover, conscience-examiner, thought-thinker and all-round everything-doer." Amy is constantly sacrificing her own reputation to save the Vice President's political credibility."
