Sean "Diddy" Combs may soon be teaching Hip Hop 101. The 46-year-old No Way Out singer has announced the opening of his own institution of learning. The record producer's Capital Preparatory Harlem Charter School will be opening in New York this Fall.

In a press release to E! Online, the 3-time Grammy winner stated, "I want to impact the lives of young people in my community, and build future leaders. The first step is offering access to a quality education. Every young person should have the tools they need to succeed. All our children should be able to pursue their dreams. That is something I can impact with this school." The MMM rapper further claimed, "Creating this school is a dream come true for me."

According to the school's website, the educational institution will be a free charter for grades 6-12 and will expand each year until a full enrollment of 700 is reached. The deadline to apply for admission is April 1st with students being selected via a lottery. Combs believes this to be not only his way of giving back to the community, but bringing his career full circle. The Draft Day actor previously donated $1 million to NYC's public school system back in 2003.

The Prep school will be supervised by Dr. Steve Perry, founder of the Capital Prep Magnet School which opened in Hartford, Connecticut in 2005.  In regards to Combs, Perry told the New York Times  "It's important to note it was he who inspired our team to come in and expand into New York... I think that there's a lot to be found in the fact that you have someone such as Combs, who is highly visible within our community, who has decided that his major push is going to be with our model and in education."

Of course, the artist formerly known as "Puff Daddy" isn't the only famous person to want to open his own school.  There have been several others who have tried but, for whatever reasons, haven't succeeded.

Here is a list of the top 5 unsuccessful celebrity schools:

5) The Geraldo Rivera School of Dance

4) The Keanu Reeves Acting Institute

3) The Alec Baldwin School of Anger Management

2) The Paris Hilton Singing Conservatory

1) The Blac Chyna Charm School
