Taylor Swift, John Mayer Reunite: 'Red' Singer Wants Old Flame Back? Former Couple Flirts at ACM Awards After Party

Though it looked like the former couple managed to avoid running into each other at the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards last week, reports claim that Taylor Swift and John Mayer did in fact have a run-in that might be leading to reconciliation between the two. At an ACM Awards after party, Swift and Mayer were spotted sitting together and sharing conversation.

According to some insiders, the 23-year-old country-pop star and the 35-year-old crooner spent the evening together at the ACM Awards show after party.

"They snuck off to a corner and were all over each other," a source revealed. "At one point he had her hands on his knees, with him holding her waist - they were deep in conversation."

The two briefly dated in late 2009 to early 2010 and then called it quits, resulting in Swift writing the song "Dear John" in response to the relationship. When asked about the song by Rollingstone Magazine, Mayer said that he was hurt and "humiliated" by it, though he admitted to being a "jerk" to Swift while they dated.

It seems like all of that is in the past though, since the two were clearly content with spending the evening together.

"They shared a deep connection that she's never found again," the source explained. "She's really hoping that his heart will be in it for the long run this time."

Taylor recently split with Harry Styles of the singing group One Direction earlier this year. She apparently even wrote the song "I Knew You Were Trouble" about him. Since then Swift has been focusing on touring and her career. Mayer just broke up with singer Katy Perry in March, leaving plenty of time to maybe rekindle a relationship with Taylor if these rumors are indeed true.
