The next Disney animated film and first-ever Polynesian princess the studio has introduced in its near-century history, Moana, is hitting theaters all over the world during the fall, but there's already plenty of things to be excited about, including how Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote music for it -- and the international trailer will make you want to watch it even more!

While the first teaser for the film primarily focused on Dwayne Johnson's character, demi-god Maui, the second one focuses on the title character, voiced by newcomer teen actress, Auli'i Cravalho. The new clip will bring you back to some of your favorite Disney moments ever, as it captures the innocence of a sweet character in her earliest days: the very young Moana playing with the ocean, which magically responds to her.

Over the past 20 years, Disney has made a more conscious effort to bring new ethnicities to its large universe of animated movies, and Moana is the latest of these. While Lilo & Stitch was set in Hawaii and most of the characters were from the island (the rest were aliens, so it hardly counts), this will be the first princess from the Polynesian region, following the likes of other non-white princesses like Aladdin's Jasmine, Pocahontas and, most recently, Tiana in The Princess and the Frog.

Moana is the first Disney animated musical since mega smash Frozen, and chances are it'll find similar success. Besides looking sweet and adorable, the people behind the music are full of geniuses: other than Tony and Grammy-winning Miranda, other artists who worked on the film's track list include Opetaia Foa'I and Mark Mancina.

Other greats involved in the project include directors Ron Clements and John Musker, best known for Disney animated classics like The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Hercules. These two also co-wrote the Moana screenplay alongside Pamela Ribon (Samantha Who?), Jared Bush (Zootopia) and Taika Waititi (the director of New Zealand mockumentary What We Do In the Shadows and the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok).

The voice cast besides Johnson and Cravalho includes Disney regular Alan Tudyk (Wreck-It-Ralph, Firefly) and Hamilton Tony nominee Phillipa Soo, hopefully singing more Miranda-written tunes.

"Young navigator Moana (voice of Auli'i Cravalho) teams with demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) to locate a legendary island, and together the pair explore fantastical lands and encounter incredible sea creatures in this animated adventure from Disney," reads the film's synopsis, via Fandango.
