Kate Middleton might be six months pregnant, but she clearly has not been slacking on her royal duties. Just this week it was announced that the Duchess of Cambridge has added three new charities to the list of organizations that she endorses and helps manage. These charities are the Natural History Museum, Place2Be, and SportsAide. With three more months until her delivery in July, the 31-year-old royal will hold meetings and visits for these additions to her duties. Luckily, it looks like after her first child's birth she will be spending six weeks with her mother, Carole, to have early stages help with the future heir.
The Duchess has reportedly told friends that she will not be employing a maternity nurse after the birth of her child with husband Prince William. Instead she will spend at least six weeks with her parents, and have her mother, Carole, help her with the baby. According to a source:
"Carole fully intends to be part of this baby's life and Catherine, for her part, plans to spend a lot of time with her parents, especially while she is waiting for the new apartment to be completed. And surely it is no bad thing this little prince or princess is given a taste of life outside of the Royal Family?"
William and Kate were hoping to bring their baby to their new Kensington home but the residence will not be ready in time for the royal birth. Apparently asbestos was found in the apartment and has to be cleared, which can take a while.
Kate adds 3 new charities to her list.
One of the new charities chosen by Duchess Kate is Place2Be, a mental health and support center for underprivileged youth. There is also SportsAid, an organization that provides aid and training to young athletes. And lastly Kate also chose the Natural History Museum, a tourist destination and research center.
These organizations were chosen by the Duchess because they reflect "personal interests in supporting children and young people to build their skills, confidence and aspirations," according to a statement by the palace.
Kate already works with a few other charities including a group of children's hospices, a charity for treating addiction the National Portrait Gallery, and the Scout Association.
The palace also stated that Kate will "undertake both private and public visits" in the United Kingdom on behalf of these charities in the coming months.
