Kate Middleton is 6 months pregnant and might have to wait even longer than she thought to bring her newborn home in July. Thanks to an apparent archeological dig, renovations to the rumored new country home of Kate and Prince William, Anmer Hall, could be delayed. This news comes just days after the second anniversary of Kate and William's royal wedding, which the two spent apart. While William was busy with his Royal Air Force duties, the Duchess was occupied with her own charitable duties.
This week in the United Kingdom is "Children's Hospice Week" and as a patron of Children's Hospice charities, Kate spent her day visiting the Naomi House Children's Hospice. The very pregnant Duchess spent her day with the terminally ill children, their parents, and hospice volunteers. Many of the children gave the 31-year-old mother-to-be some gifts; some of which were more for her yet-to-be-named child.
It looks like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge might be waiting quite some time to move into their rumored new residence, Anmer Hall. According some interested archaeologists, the estate used to be the site of the medieval era Village of Anmer. A dig around the area could be ordered in order to carry out some "survey work."
This dig could get in the way of proposed hopes to change some of the landscape and more specifically the plans to re-route the house's driveway. These alterations would be in hopes of creating a more quiet home life for the future heir(s) to the thrown.
A spokesperson for the royal family and St. James Palace said, "We have got no statement. We have never actually confirmed they will be moving there."
Plans for the renovations were approved back in March. The royal couple has other housing options, of course, including their Nottingham Cottage as well as Kate's parent's home.
