Not just Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor, there are many celebrities out there who ditched their previous religions to covert to Judaism. Some had their upcoming marriage or a love affair as the reason, some had a change in religious beliefs and some others converted to Judaism due to traumatic events or personal reasons. Here's a list of celebrities who converted to Judaism.

Marilyn Monroe took to Judaism when she married Arthur Miller in 1956. Unfortunately, Monroe lost interest in the faith soon after her divorce from Miller in the year 1961. Before converting to Judaism, Monroe was a Protestant Christian.

Elizabeth Taylor converted to Judaism at the age of 27. She even changed her name to a Hebrew name Elisha Rachel and became active part of the Jewish community, New York Post reported. Though the violet-eyed actress adopted the new faith when she was young, she stuck to it and supported Judaism throughout her life.

Third on the list is Jack Black who was raised in a Jewish family but chose to be identified as an atheist. Black later reconnected with Judaism after the birth of his first child, Daily News reported. Forth on the list is US President Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, who chose to convert to Judaism in the year 2009 when she decided to marry Jared Kushner.

Tom Arnold, who was raised as Methodist, converted to Judaism for his lady love, Roseanne Barr, to whom he got married in the year 1990. Though Arnold divorced Barr in 1994 and remarried thrice, he practices Judaism till date. Ariana Grande also had a personal reason behind the conversion to Judaism. Brought up in the Catholic Church, Grande chose to adopt Judaism after her brother Frankie Grande was rejected by the Catholic Church because he was gay.

It was a car accident in 1954 that bought Sammy Davis Jr. close to Judaism. From the year of conversion, Davis continued to practice Judaism until his death in 1990. Wedding Crashers actress Isla Fisher who attended a Methodist college converted to Judaism for marrying Sacha Baron Cohen in 2010. Her Hebrew name is Ayala.
