Phil Ivey Denied $11.5 Million During Punto Banco Game Win: Casino To Put Winnings In Bank Account

Eight times World Series Poker winner, Phil Ivey has been denied of his $11.7 million he won during a casino game of Punto Banco in Crockord's casino in London.  Suspicion has been raised since the card game; Punto Banco is strictly based on luck instead of skill.Ivey originally lost $800,000 and later returned to the casino with an unknown gorgeous companion and suddenly had a winning streak for two nights.  The casino eventually looked into the matter and found out that the woman had her membership at another casino revoked. This information quickly raised an eyebrow.

According to the Daily Mail, Ivey and the young woman never touched the cards. The only people around during the streak were the croupier and an inspector. Employees from that night were interviewed, surveillance videos were checked, and the cards and shoe from which the cards were dealt were checked as well.

Onlinepoker.net say theories of Ivey's wins have been floating around. The site said, "Theories include the casino harboring suspicions Ivey may have been card counting... Another is that the casino is simply making sure everything was above board before handing over such a large sum of cash."

According to The Huffington Post, a spokesperson from the casino said they will not comment, "until we have something further to report." Although, Ivey is known for a clean reputation, there has been no word on whether Ivey is being accused of impropriety.

Originally, Crockfords agreed to put the millions in a bank account until the investigation was over.
