WNBA coach for the Minnesota Lynx, Cheryl Reeve lost her cool when a referee failed to call a shouting foul in the third quarter. The game against the Indiana Fever was tied at 48 when the referee didn't like her reaction and gave her a technical foul, which led to Reeve's major meltdown.
Reeve took off her blazer and threw it at her assistant and began yelling at the top of her lungs at the referee. As she paced back and forth, another coach and a Lynx athlete had to ease her down on the sidelines. Fans reaction to the meltdown immediately became a trending topic on twitter. One WNBA reporter, Lachina Robinson tweeted, "Reeve threw out her shoulder out when she ripped her jacket off."
Ashamed of her outburst Reeve said, "We've got a lot of league people here. It's the WNBA Finals. So we have to be really, really careful in the things that we say. Clearly, I wasn't happy in that moment. I'm not happy about how the game was officiated, period, but that's all I'm going to say about it."
Even though many people joke about it and find it rather humorous, some may be disappointed in her behavior. However, Minnesota's former governor Jesse Ventura backed the ladies coach and even waved his hands in disgust at the referees.
By the end of the game Lynx defeated the Fever, 83-71 and are tied in the series at 1-1.
