Jodi Arias is on trial for admitting to killing her boyfriend Travis Alexander. The 32-year-old murderer shot her boyfriend in the face, stabbed him 27 times, and slit his throat from ear to ear. As the trial proceeds, gruesome evidence are being shown in court of bloody photographs, messages Arias wrote on an obituary website, and a diary entry she wrote indicating that she didn't kill Alexander.
On June 4, 2008, 30-year-old Alexander was found dead in his home and Arias had become a prime suspect according to friends. When news got around that the motivational speaker was brutally murdered, Arias wrote about his fatal outcome in her diary as if she had no clue who'd done it, but later admitted to police that she killed him only to protect herself when he got violent.
In her own handwriting she wrote:
"...that Travis is dead. What happened?!? Travis, what is this?" In a later entry she wrote, "Last night was so hard... I wanted so badly to call Travis, but knowing he wouldn't answer was too much to bear. And knowing he wasn't calling me anytime soon was just killing me. I broke down as I climbed into bed and just cried and cried and cried until I fell asleep."
In addition the former girlfriend wrote, "It just feels like he hasn't called me in too long. I hear him singing. I hear him laugh.
Another entry she added, "Travis always told me he liked the name Iris for a girl... If I ever have a son I'll name him Alexander."
According to RadarOnline, Alexander's best friend and business associate Taylor Searle said, "She immediately began posting all these photos and flooded his Facebook page with pictures of them and tried to position herself as his woman." He added, "It was a like a P.R. campaign. I was disgusted because I was certain it was her, then she showed up at his memorial acting distraught."
On the Legacy.com, an obituary site Arias posted a message for her boyfriend she killed saying:
Travis, what can I say to you that I haven't already said? I am so grateful for the endless hours of conversation and amazing experiences we've shared. Thank you for having the courage to share the Gospel with me. You've had one of the greatest impacts on my life, and have forever altered it's course for the better. I love you, my friend, and always will.
