Nicki Minaj's American Idol beef with Mariah Carey is causing the rapper to change up her image. The pop-rapper has drastically changed her erratic fashion and has been doing interview rounds claiming that she isn't a bad person and that she's the victim of Carey's bullying ways.

According to Life&Style magazine, one critic says, "[Nicki's] presentation is so abrasive, and she's so concerned with outshining Mariah at every moment." It seems the rapper has realized that she was no match up against America's girl next door "Carey" and professed that she loves Carey and has no hard feelings against her and still looks at her like her Idol. Lately, the "Super Bass" singer has been cleaning up her image and kicking her over-the-top looks for outfits more relatable to American Idol viewers, "Nicki knows that in order to appeal to everyone, she needs to tone it down, according to Life&Style's TV source.

Although, cleaning up a bit of the publicity mess, she may be changing her looks for her upcoming fashion line that will be released in Kmart. She may want to start wearing appealing outfits in order to sell the looks everyday people wear. Playing it smart is best for the rapper, and once source claims that Minaj feels  that she can win the hearts of the "American Idol" audience, "She isn't afraid of Mariah and isn't going to back down," the source added, "She thinks she can win the war- and viewers' approval- but she knows she has to change her tactics."
