Caleb Moore is in critical condition after suffering a horrific snowmobile crash during the X Games in Aspen. The rider has spent the weekend in the hospital and remains in critical condition and his family claims that he is not doing well at all and may not survive from his injuries.
Charles Moore, Caleb's grandfather said, "Caleb is not doing good at all ... The prognosis is not good at all. It's almost certain he's not going to make it" he told the Denver Post.
The family's spokeswoman, Chelsea Lawson released a statement on the family's behalf on Monday night, "Caleb is in critical condition and is being closely monitored ... The Moore's want to express their gratitude to all of Caleb's fans, friends and family for their strong support and ask for continued prayers in the coming days. The family will not be making any other public statements for the time being. Thank you for respecting the family's privacy during this difficult time."
The 25-year-old snowmobile rider was flipped his ride during his competition when his ski clipped the top of the jump, ejecting Moore. The snowmobile landed on top of the skier, but Moore seemed to look fines as he walked off the course and rushed to the hospital. The athlete suffered a concussion, but later suffered a heart condition and further complications with his brain.
If Moore's succumbs to his X Games crash injuries, he will be the first in the 17 years of this game's history to die at the Winter event.
