This morning, west coast rapper and "Couples Therapy" star Too Short (born Todd Anthony Shaw) was arrested for DUI in Hollywood after allegedly trying to escape his sobriety test on foot. While in the back of the police cruiser on his way to the station, the 46-year-old rap pioneer attempted to ditch narcotics that he had. He was rearrested and charged for felony drug possession.

Lt. Marc Reina of the Los Angeles Police Department told the Daily News the following:

"He was stopped for DUI investigation, ran from officers and actually tripped and fell. He got maybe half a block and was taken into custody there. He discarded narcotics in the police car."

Too Short was first arrested at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday morning and then re-booked for the felony possession of drugs charge at 5:58 a.m. He is being held on a $10,000 bail.

This double-arrest comes just one month after he was rumored to be involved in a Las Vegas shooting and car crash that turned fatal. The incident left Oakland rapper Kenny Clutch and two others dead. Too Short shot down these rumors with a message on his Facebook page saying he was not in Las Vegas at the time and had "no knowledge or connection to this incident."

Also, in 2009, Shaw had two arrests on DUI suspicions and then in 2010 he was charged with misdemeanor battery after an Idaho Nightclub performance.

Too Short rose to fame in the late '80s with the double platinum album Life is...Too Short and has been ever-present in the rap world since. He has collaborated with such greats as Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G. and Snoop Dogg.
