'Grey's Anatomy' Sneak Peek, Spoilers [VIDEO]: Season 9, Episode 18 'Idle Hands', Derek and Meredith Prepare for Their Baby

ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" is a Thursday night tradition for many fans. Now in its ninth season, the show is also a hotbed for rumors about what twists and turns the characters on the show will have to go through next. In this Thursday's "Idle Hands" episode (March 21 at 9pm) it looks like Meredith and Derek will be the focus. It seems like Ellen Pompeo's character will become a large part of the show as her baby gets closer to arriving. Check out a sneak peek video below.

Grey's Anatomy show-runner Shonda Rhimes recently told The Hollywood Reporter that she has big plans for Meredith and her baby. "The audience does not look at Meredith's pregnancy and just assume there's a happy baby at the end of it," Rimes said. "Like life, they recognize things going on are unpredictable. I have great plans for Meredith and Derek and what's going to happen is going to be really beautiful."

"One of the things I wanted to portray is that energy and strength that happens in women when they're pregnant," Rhimes also tells The Hollywood Reporter. "Seeing that in the Meredith was going to be really interesting to portray and that's one of the things you're going to see in her. For a long time she's been very unwilling to accept the joy of being pregnant and as she gets past that you're going to see a much stronger Meredith."

By the looks of the sneak peek video found on The Hollywood Rerporter's website, Meredith is having a lot of worries over her baby. Luckily Derek is there to calm her down.

In the video clip below, it looks like Derek is also protecting hospital interns in addition to the mother of his child. Intern Shane tries to deliver bad news to the father of a patient, but the father gets physical. Luckily Derek steps in to protect his intern.
