Hillary Clinton's Campaign Enlists Feminists: Lena Dunham and Abby Wambach!

Continuing her streak of girl power ahead of this year's elections, Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has enlisted two new known feminists in her celebrity-filled campaign: recently retired soccer champion Abby Wambach and Girls star and Lenny Newsletter editor Lena Dunham.

According to The Washington Post, Golden Globe-winning Dunham joined Clinton at New Hampshire to campaign, taking on another job besides celebrity company: she was Clinton's community manager for the trip, posting from the politician's Instagram account.

Although Wambach didn't get to go around posting pics from Clinton's account, she was featured in a few photos herself when Dunham tagged her and called her a "dream babe." The two seemed to get along great (it's unclear whether they knew each other beforehand), and the FIFA Women's World Cup champion also posted a few pictures of Dunham, including one where the actress makes a hilarious face while wearing the most inconspicuously pro-Clinton outfit ever.

As Sea Coast Online reports, the two celebs did more than just taking pictures and posting them on social media; they also spoke publicly about why they supported Clinton. Dunham, known for being upfront when it comes to speaking her mind, saying how condescending she found it when people said the only reason she supported the former Secretary of State was her gender.

"It's not like we have some feminist version of beer goggles that's called estrogen (inaudible) that causes us to go walking toward the nearest vagina and vote for," Dunham told the crowd, although she's proud of how well Clinton has handled the anti-women attacks on her.

Wambach, on the other hand, told an interviewer that seeing a woman in the White House was the kind of thing she'd been working for in her entire life through her career in sports as one of the most important women in soccer.
