Ryan Gosling Mentions Andy Richter at Golden Globes, Making Conan O’Brien the Brad Pitt of TBS

If you watched Sunday night's Golden Globes then you undoubtedly saw The Big Short stars Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling make an appearance. Upon discovering that he wasn't alone on the stage, Gosling noted that he, unfortunately, became the Andy Richter of the situation, which was apparently something that Richter was pretty cool with, as discovered on Monday night's episode of CONAN.

During the episode, Conan O'Brien sent a nod Richter's way for having been the subject of a shout-out from The Big Short star, something Richter titled a "namecheck." And after the CONAN crowd booed Gosling's apparent jab, O'Brien's "sidekick" explained that there are no hard feelings, calling the audience "crazy" for booing the actor.

"No, are you crazy?! Like, one of the hunkiest guys in the world said my name on TV," he joked.

Richter then called the Golden Globes moment "surreal."

But of course, being the oh-so-narcissistic person he is—after all, the show is called CONAN—O'Brien noted that then means he must be the Brad Pitt of the situation.

Which, sadly, doesn't appear to be as thrilling as one might assume.

Following up with Gosling's name drop, O'Brien welcomed in Steve Carell, who also stars in The Big Short and is promoting his newly-created TBS series, Angie Tribeca, on Tuesday night's episode.

Now all he needs is Christian Bale to complete the week. Will it happen? Given the line-up on the site's homepage, well, probably not.

The Big Short is in theaters now. Find more information about CONAN over on Team Coco.
