Oscars Boycott: 'SNL' Celebrates All the White Guys in Film This Year

As news of more and more boycotts of the Oscars come about from the likes of Jada Pinkett Smith to Snoop Dogg himself, it's not really a shocker that Saturday Night Live decided to poke fun at the situation. During last night's episode with host Ronda Rousey, SNL took some time to mock the controversy swirling around the Academy Awards and celebrate all the white guys who appeared in films this past year.

If you hadn't heard, the Oscar nominations were recently announced, and for the second year in a row there were absolutely zero African American actors and actresses nominated. This happened despite the very moving performances from several black actors in 2015. Many believe Will Smith was snubbed for his performance in Concussions, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe. Others seem to think Idris Elba was heavily left out of the nominations despite his appearance in Beasts of No Nation.

The snubs came a year after another actor, David Oyelowo, was not recognized by the Academy for his work in Selma, portraying Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Saturday Night Live didn't outright shoot down the Oscars, per-se; they centered the sketch on the Screen Guild Awards, which took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles––the very same place as the Oscars.

So, okay, yes, they took down the Oscars.

Anyway, despite several African Americans getting the nod in the below sketch, it appears that the awards went to the white guys who, well, really didn't deserve them.

You know, guys like Little Q, Dave, White Man with Camera and Unseen Voice on Phone.

So, who won? "All the white guys!"
