Boris Diaw of the San Antonio Spurs Has an Espresso Machine in His Locker

The long haul of the NBA season can be a grind. Some players need to take games off, and others a few practices here and there. But for Boris Diaw, all he needs is a little coffee, an espresso to be specific. The San Antonio Spurs veteran makes sure he's always prepared for whatever happens next with an espresso machine neatly sitting in his locker.

A good coffee or cappuccino is a calling card of the savvy French man. In the past, before practices or games, he could be seen walking into the gym, coffee in hand and flip-flops on his feet, leisurely strolling at his own pace. Which was good fun in its own right. But then earlier this month, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News tweeted the revelation that Diaw had a working cappuccino machine plugged in his locker.

Naturally, people wanted proof. You know, pictures and stuff. NBA rules don't allow photography in the locker room, so the general public had to take McDonald at his word. That is, until after the Spurs 100-99 win over the New York Knicks earlier this month. Diaw gave the proof everybody so desperately wanted and posted the above picture to his Instagram. And in the process one of the stranger tales of NBA legend was confirmed as fact with the adjustment of it being an espresso machine with no foam attachment in sight.

As for his presence on the court, Diaw is a key contributor off the bench for the Spurs. He's averaging over 7 points and 3 rebounds in just under 16 minutes of action. On January 2nd against the Rockets he scored a season best 20-points, going 8-13 from the field. Diaw is part of a great Spurs bench, who are a big reason why the team has the second best record in the NBA.
