Michael Tanner Phillips, 27, bodyguard of the rapper Future, was fatally shot at his home in Georgia on Monday afternoon, according to Fox 5 News

Clayton County police said Phillips was home with his pregnant wife in Jonesboro when he was shot in the home's foyer around 1:05 p.m.

"Some of the neighbors heard some arguing and some gunshots. We are still interviewing them and trying to piece together what happened," Lt. Frank Thomas said.

Hollywood Life claimed that the suspect or suspects drove away from the scene.

Phillips, whom his family called "a gentle giant," was married eight months ago in the Dominican Republic, and his wife is expecting their first child, a boy, any day. He was a talented young man who played the piano for his mother's church in Riverdale at the Hand of Faith Deliverance.

Phillips' parents told the Fox station they forgive their son's killer, and pleaded with whoever is responsible to turn themselves in to police.

Family and friends are mourning Phillips' death on social media, posting memories using the hashtag "#RipBigMike."
