Forbes launched The Forbes Five: Hip-Hop's Wealthiest Artists a couple of years ago with mogul's like Jay-Z, Diddy, and 50 Cent topping the list. Well the men are still on top in 2013.
Jay-Z, Diddy, Dr Dre, 50 Cent, and Birdman made it to the top five list, with a combined net worth, including; business holdings, records sales, endorsements, and other factors of $2 billion.
Diddy is leading the pack with $580 million, Jay-Z follows him with $475 million, then the only west coast hip-hop tycoon on the list, Dr. Dre comes in with $350 million. Lil Wayne's "daddy", Birdman is fourth at $150 million, and 50 Cent chimes in with $125 million.
How do the Forbes top five keep the millions coming in? Diddy is the king of self-promotion and avertising. The "Bad Boy" exec is reportedly making double-digit millions annually as a share of profits for Ciroc, according to Forbes. Sales of the spirit spiked 122% last year in the wake of strong demand for new flavor Ciroc Peach; he is entitled to a nine-figure chunk of cash if the brand is ever sold, Forbes reported in 2012.
While Diddy is the cloeset to billionaire status, they others are not far behind.
