WGN America continues with the premiere their new original series, Outsiders. In episode 2, entitled Doomsayer, Big Foster (David Morse) and Little Foster (Ryan Hurst) are trying to defend their mountaintop homestead before the outside world takes it away from them.

Sheriff Wade Houghton (Thomas J. Wright) listens to the ravings of the teen murderer. The teenage killer admits he drank the moonshine and it made him see things. It wasn't this father he saw; it was the Devil.

While G'Winn Farrell (Gillian Alexy) is taking care of Lady Ray (Phyllis Somerville), Asa (Joe Anderson) returns to the camp. Mourning for the death of his boy, Big Foster just wants to bury Asa. Though Little Foster gets involved, it's up to the council to decide Asa's fate.

At the Council, Big Foster argues the case that Asa should not be allowed to return to he Clan. Asa defends himself and explains why he left to the outside world, abandoning family. The prodigal son returned because the outside world turned him into a sinner and now he seeks forgiveness.

G'Winn throws herself into the debate, asking for the pit match. In the pit match, Asa has to fend for himself as he goes up against the strongest man in the Clan. If Asa manages to win, he gets to stay with the clan. Unfortunately, if Little Foster loses, Big Foster won't even consider him family.

Though Asa and G'Winn used to be together, she makes his life even worse. Asa doesn't even have an ATV for the pit match and G'Winn won't help him find one. Little Foster offers G'Winn a chance to leave him, but she won't; she already made her choice.

After cauterizing Hasil (Kyle Gallner)'s missing fingers, the Doctor ends up meeting with Asa. Because the Doctor is a mad of science, he does believe the outside world is coming in on the mountaintop. The Doctor has an ATV for Asa to use in the pit match.

Feeling the pressure of the corporation, Wade is expected to bring in results from his superiors. Though he can't go after the Farrell Clan, Wade decides to go after one of the local drug dealers. Wade storms though the dealer's house before dragging him into his police car.

During the pit match, Little Foster and Asa circle around each other with their ATVs.  Because he is stronger, Little Foster is able to hurt Asa with his battering ram. Not only is Asa hurt, but his ATV is soon leaking gasoline. Asa is unable to defend himself at this point.

As Little Foster attempts to deliver his finishing move, Asa throws in the money wrench. The ATV flips over, along with Little Foster; making Asa the final winner. While lying on the floor, Little Foster looks up at Big Foster, who just ignores him. The crowd has to step in and pull Little Foster and Asa off of each other as they fight.

Out in the woods, Wade finds himself walking around, with the moonshine in his hands. He takes a whiff of the moonshine, desperately wanting to go off the wagon. Wade dumps the rest of the moonshine and continues forward.
