Fox airs the highly anticipated premiere of The X-Files Revival. In Season 10, episode 4, special agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) realize they can never go Home Again.

After a police officer gets a riot going, a garbage man appears when the truck drives by. A man named Cutler realizes he is being stalked by someone mysterious. Suddenly, the Trash Man rips his arms out and kills him instantly.

At the crime scene, Mulder and Scully flash their badges and introduce themselves.  Mulder discovers that prints cannot be lifted. As Scully investigates the ripped dead body, she gets a call from her brother, William. Knowing her mother had a heart attack, Scully runs out while Mulder takes over the case.

Taking a look at the surveillance cameras, Mulder discovers something gooey underneath his shoe. At the hospital, Scully visits her mother, talks to her, and begs her to stay because she needs her.

While staring at the artwork of the Trash Man, Mulder learns that the homeless were being kicked out by Cutler for gentrification. Mulled overhears the name of the killer, the band-aid nose man, from one of the homeless. Scully remembers when Mulder visited her in the hospital. She goes over her mother's belongings and asks her brother to hurry.

In the lab, Mulder discovers something not dead, not alive from the band-aid. Scully learns that her other changed her will and doesn't want to be resuscitated. In a storage room, the portrait of The Trash Man comes alive and claims two more victims.

As the doctor plan their next step, Mulder shows up at the hospital for Scully. As the homeless are being rounded up, Mulder wonders if The Trash Man is committing murders to prevent relocation. Scully wonders why her mother changed the wall and what is the significance of the special coin. Mulder holds Scully as she watches the tube being taken out of her mother's mouth.

The garbage truck arrives and the Trash Man strikes again. At the hospital, Scully and Mulder laugh as she calls him a "dark wizard." Scully's mother wakes up but she mistakes Mulder for her son, Charlie. Scully cries as she fails to stop her mother from dying. Scully falls apart after hearing her mother talk about William; he's okay.

Not wanting to deal with her mother gone, Scully wants to get back to work. Using a product locater, Scully follows her next lead and takes down a suspect. Using flashlights, Mulder and Scully walk down into the dark basement and find zombies. They find a homeless man hiding in the corner, hoping The Trash Man doesn't find him.

The homeless man realizes his artwork has been coming alive and The Trash Man has a life of his own. Scully realizes the homeless man is responsible because the idea was his. Knowing The Trash Man is after Landry, Mulder and Scully rush to find him. They find Landry ripped apart, with a bloody band-aid next to him.

With the ashes besides her, Scully realizes her mother wanted them to know William is okay. She will never know the answer if William is thinking of her; she wants to believe she never treated William like trash.
