CBS continues with the freshmen season of DC Comics' Supergirl. In last night's episode, Twitter had lots to say about Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist)'s shocking twist over her nemesis and Kryptonian aunt Astra (Laura Benanti).

As we previously mentioned, Superman's cousin, Kara, has been living quietly amongst the humans. Her secrecy changes when Kara's sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh) is just about to die in a horrible plane crash. After stopping the plane crash in mid-air, everyone wants to meet the new heroine, Supergirl, especially photographer Jimmy Olson (Mehcad Brooks). As the plot to invade earth thickens, Supergirl will have to eventually take down her Kryptonian aunt and mother's twin sister, Astra (Laura Benanti).

In our recap, with the incoming alien invasion almost upon Earth, Supergirl was taken out of the picture and kept in a comatose dream state. Alex had to break into Kara's dream state and remind her that the perfect fantasy wasn't real. It was an all-out battle between Martian Manhunter and Astra. With Manhunter's life in danger, Alex stepped in and drove the Kyrptonite blade through Astra's chest

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg reveals the fallout from Astra's death, "We've seen Astra had some measure of compassion for Kara, As we say on the show, 'Blood bonds us all.' But Non is not blood to Kara. And the loss of his wife, who he truly loves, will make him a very dangerous foe."

Check out what Twitter had to say:

@RebeccaHindle_C  tweets, "Totally did not see Alex sticking a sword into Astra shocked & glowing kryptonite sword I want a badass sword like that #Supergirl"

@KyleSBaxter writes, "@chy_leigh Loved #Supergirl last night. Big shock to see Alex killing Astra. Totally blew me away. Amazing performance once again. =)"

@simy124 realizes, "#Supergirl  I'm sure the truth about Alex killing Astra is going to come out I just hope that this secret doesn't tear them apart."

@cecilemesina adds, "Ok, so.. I didn't expect astra to die already! I mean, i know she's kinda bad but she's such a cupcake at heart @LauraBenanti #supergirl"

@k_chandlersmith states, "I'm not ready for Astra to go. YOU CANT MAKE ME GIVE HER UP. #Supergirl"

@Tickelace argues, "Damnit, they made me cry over Aunt Astra. #Supergirl"

Supergirl continues Mondays 8pm on CBS.
