Game of Thrones' Season 6 SPOILERS: How Did Sansa Stark And Theon Greyjoy Survive Their Fall?

There are amazing new photos from Game of Thrones Season 6 courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, and we now have our first look at Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Theon Greyjoy/Reek (Alfie Allen) after their leap of faith from the walls of Winterfell in the previous season finale. But how exactly did Sansa and Theon survive the fall?

In "Mother's Mercy," Sansa is finally confronted by Myranda (Charlotte Hope), who threatens to disfigure her so Ramsey Bolton (Iwan Rheon) will lose interest in her. However, the threat seems to have broken Ramsey's spell on Reek, who throws Myranda off the wall. Knowing that Ramsey will be infuriated by the death of his lover, Theon and Sansa decide to jump off the castle wall.

It would be easy to assume that they are both killed by the jump, but EW's new photo reveals that Sansa and Theon have actually survived and appear to be helping each other. The image shows Sansa holding out a hand to Theon, who looks like he is having trouble getting out of a river.

It would be easy to assume that they jumped into the river, but Sansa appears to be completely dry. There is a possibility that the heavy snow outside of Winterfell cushioned their fall or they ended up falling into some trees.

Sansa's survival could be one of the most important aspects of the sixth season, as Turner has previously confirmed that this would be her character's "best season." In addition to that, the actress was seen on the Belfast set of Game of Thrones where a huge battle sequence is being filmed. Turner was seen together with Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, and they appear to be shooting a scene where they attempt to win back Winterfell.

See more of Sansa and Theon when the sixth season of Game of Thrones finally airs on HBO on April.
