Disney and Lucasfilm have officially announced last Monday with a video teaser that Star Wars Episode VIII is finally on track. Millions of fans and viewers around the globe are excited to see the new cast additions being uncovered in the teaser. One of the additions is Asian-American actress Kelly Marie Tran.

Even though her role was not clearly specified or disclosed, it still means a little bit of something for the fans and moviegoers to think and talk about on how the newcomer will fit into the Star Wars universe. It was said that Tran is actually a young actress who appears to be more of a comedic talent.

Her working experiences were mostly online. She has worked with College Humor where she has made a few contributions including Philosophical Truth or Dare. She also starred in a comedy series seen in Youtube, Ladies Like Us.

Another thing that was revealed is that the actors of the Force Awakens will again be cast in the Star Wars VIII. Fans will be seeing more of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Anthony Daniels as they return in the limelight.

Looper and Brick filmmaker Rian Johnson will write and direct Star Wars Episode VIII. The film began its primary photography at Pinewood Studios in London. And the movie is set for release Dec. 15, 2017.

Lastly, Star Wars VIII will also include Benicio Del Toro, Daisy Ridley and Laura Dern. Whether or not the new cast brings havoc or peace to the eighth episode of the much-awaited film this coming winter of 2017, is yet to be seen. But these additional castings may be another step up for the continuing Star Wars saga.
