Netflix's 'Gilmore Girls' reboot signs up two more original cast members
There's still no word on whether Melissa McCarthy will return to Stars Hollow, two more Gilmore Girls cast members are confirmed for the Netflix reboot: Liz Torres' Miss Patty and Todd Lowe's Zack!
According to TV Guide, Lowe and Torres are the latest additions to Gilmore Girls: Seasons, the four-part revival of the cult Amy Sherman-Palladino dramedy. Miss Patty was the town's sweet and kooky dance instructor, and Zack Van Gerbig was Lane's (Keiko Agena) husband and the father of her twin sons.
As Gilmore News reports, these two are just part of the latest returns of the show. Sally Struthers, who played Lorelei and Rory's neighbor, Babette, in the show's original run, is a go, as is Michael Winters as fussy market owner and town-hall meeting scourge Taylor.
The revival, which is filming now, will be set in one year in present day. Sherman-Palladino's scripts call for four 90-minute films, one for each season.
In the final episode of the original show, Lorelai and Rory Gilmore (Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel) remained as close as ever; Lorelai and Luke (Scott Peterson) had reunited; and Rory broken up with boyfriend Logan (Matt Czuchry) to cover Barack Obama's first presidential campaign.
