'Bones' Season 12: David Boreanaz/Emily Deschanel Booth/Brennan Last Episodes Premiere 2017?
Season 11 of Bones aired its winter finale last night on Fox. With the renewal of Season 12, will the final episodes starring Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) premiere in 2017?
In the penultimate recap, Temperance Brennan (Deschanel) and Seeley Booth (Boreanaz) were working undercover at the Frontier Games. Elsewhere, Hodgins and Angela were working out their difference on whether or not they should have children. As Brennan and Booth solved the case, Hodgins admitted to Angela that he's not ready to have more children; breaking her heart.
In our finale recap, Aubrey (John Boyd) risked his life to save Hodgins as they unexpectedly found themselves near a bomb. Though the explosion sent them both to the hospital, Booth raced against the clock with Leslie (Sara Rue) to find the cop-killer. Just when Arrastoo (Pej Vahdat) begged for a second chance from Camille (Tamara Taylor), Hodgins told Angela he wanted to have more kids. Unfortunately, the couple discovered the explosion has left Hodgins paralyzed.
According to TV Line, the Fox drama has been granted a twelfth and final season. The final season will consist of 12 episodes, which brings the episode tally to 246.
Executive producers and showrunners Jonathan Collier and Michael Peterson state, "We couldn't be more thrilled to have another season, so we can give the show, characters and fans the end they so richly deserve. Also knowing there is a Season 12, we can now write the most rewarding Season 11 finale possible - one we hope will leave our fans excited for what's to come in this final season of Bones."
The site also adds, Deschanel mentions in her statement, "I am thrilled the show will have the ending it deserves for all of our amazing, loyal fans!"
Bones will return to Fox for the rest of Season 11 on Thursday, April 14 8pm. We speculate the final season will air sometime in 2017.
