Heading into the end of Week 1 of the MLB 2013 regular season, ESPN predicts the season outlook team power rankings. The Cardinals head into the 2013 regular season at the no 12 spot - as sports columnist Matt Philip points out, "The Cardinals finished spring training a bit bruised, with Jason Motte and David Freese on the disabled list, but they're ready to begin the season with a deep lineup and pitching staff set to improve on last year's team strikeout record."
St. Louis currently holds a 1-2 winning record, having plaed the Arizona Diamondbacks earlier this week.
The Giants snag the no 4 overall spot (out of 30 teams). According to Chris Quick, "The Giants enter 2013 with largely the same squad that netted the team its second World Series championship in three years. Is that good or bad? Only time will tell. But for now, the team will try and do the difficult job of defending its title."
San Fran heads into Friday's game with two wins and one loss over the LA Dodgers.
The ball game will be broadcasted live on MLBN, but fans can listen in on the radio at KMOX, ESPN 92.9, KNBR, and CBS.
