Fans of Iron Fist sighed in relief when it was announced that Game of Thrones' actor Finn Jones will play Danny Rand in the highly anticipated Netflix series. And it looks like we will get an early peek at Iron Fist, as Jones is set to make an appearance in Luke Cage with Mike Colter!

Jones' casting was recently discussed during the Collider Heroes podcast, when Heroic Hollywood's Umberto Gonzales asked why the English actor was chosen for the role instead of someone more "urban." In addition to that, Gonzales pointed out that Iron Fist had a "missed opportunity of casting an Asian" for the lead role.

Nevertheless, the hosts and their guests agreed that Iron Fist was something to look forward to. Watch the video below for the discussion about the Netflix show and Jones' role, which begins at 15:06 mark.

So will Jones debut as Iron Fist in Luke Cage? There is a possibility that the casting was announced to avoid any further rumors after it has been reported that the actor has already filmed his scenes in Colter's solo series.

It would make sense for Danny to appear in Luke Cage. After all, Iron Fist has been one of Luke's strongest allies in the comic books and it would be an excellent way to test the character with the current audience.

Speculation has swirled around Iron Fist, especially after the enthusiastic response to Jon Bernthal being cast as Frank Castle in the second season of Daredevil. There were rumors that The Punisher will get a solo series and take Danny's place in The Defenders, while Iron Fist will be made into a film instead. Nevertheless, Marvel TV President Jeph Loeb insisted that they are pushing through with Danny's show.

Luke Cage is expected to air on Netflix in late 2016.
