The makers of Jason Bourne, previously titled Bourne 5 recently released the official trailer clip at the Super Bowl earlier this month. From the released short clip, it looks like the film will reveal where was Jason Bourne from the past 12 years.

The released clip shows Jason (played by Matt Damon) in a raw fighting match and after a couple of action sequences, we hear the CIA head, Robert Dewey (played by Tommy Lee Jones) saying, "Why would he come back now?" Jason is then seen talking to Nicky Parsons (played by Julia Stiles) about his motives, "I know who I am, I remember everything." For which Parsons says that remembering everything does not mean that the person knows everything.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, The Martian actor, Damon talked about him working on Jason Bourne and reprising his role after such a long time. While talking to EW, the 45-year-old American actor said that in the film his character will deal with some conflicts that will prompt him to come bak to the life, which he left all those years back.

"Well I don't know how much I should say. [Laughs] We talked a lot about what state he should be in, and where we came to was that if you found him fat and happy and content, you don't really have a movie. So we talked about how at the end of Bourne Ultimatum, he gets his memory back and it kind of completed that identity journey for him, but does that complete thing for the character or not?"

Damon further added that Jason Bourne was not a chapter in itself and cab be absorbed in the earlier released trilogies. According to Damon, Jason Bourne will be the conclusion of his journey to identify himself. In an interview with Variety, Damon revealed about his character in the film and stated that Jason was off the grid for about 12 years. Tthere must be a solid reason for his return and the fans will need to know about his whereabouts from the past 12 years.

"So when this next one (Jason Bourne) comes out in 2016, it will have been 12 years--in movie years--that the character as been off the grid. So what's happened in those intervening years gives you a story."
