Does Former 'Superman' Brandon Routh Think Henry Cavill's Man of Steel Will Defeat Batman?

Just a few days after the cast of The Flash weighed in on who could win in what Lex Luthor is calling "the greatest gladiator match in the history of the world," the men and women from DC's Legends of Tomorrow have decided to call on who would win in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But does Superman Returns star Brandon Routh think the new Man of Steel has what it takes to defeat the Dark Knight?

The video was released by The CW, and it looks like Ben Affleck's Caped Crusader has more fans in Legends compared to The Flash. Franz Drameh and Caity Lotz agreed that Batman has something up his sleeve while Ciara Renee chose the DC superhero simply because "he's my favorite."

But that doesn't mean that Henry Cavill doesn't have any supporters in Legends of Tomorrow. Dominic Purcell revealed that he is good friends with Cavill and immediately took Superman's side. The best response came from Routh, who may now play Ray Palmer/The Atom but still remains loyal to the character he once played. He questioned why there was even a discussion on who would win in the fight.

"The only answer is Superman," Routh said.

Cavill was originally slated to portray Kal-El in the 2004 film when it was still under the direction of McG. However, when X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer took over the project, the film was recast and Routh ended up with the lead role.

As for Arthur Darvill, he decided not to take sides, claiming that he has no idea who would win. "But I can't wait to find out," he admitted.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow airs on The CW every Thursday night. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will premiere on March 25.
