There have been hundreds of young actors trying out for the coveted role of Han Solo in the Star Wars standalone film that is set for release in 2018. But there have been no confirmations as to which of Hollywood's finest have actually auditioned for the part. Now Fantastic 4 star Miles Teller has just admitted that he did try his luck with the Solo flick, and he also revealed that he had never seen Harrison Ford in the original Star Wars films before his audition!

Teller was recently a guest on the happysadconfused podcast, where he shared that he had to watch Episodes IV to VI to be aware of what he was getting into.

"I had never even seen any of the original Star Wars movies until maybe a month or a couple weeks before my first audition because I was like, 'I should check this out,'" Teller said with a laugh.

Although he only discovered the original Han right before he tried out for the role, the Whiplash actor admitted that he gained instant respect for Ford.

"It holds up," he said. "I just love Harrison Ford. I think that's a great character. I love his brand, I mean so many guys would've played that part so wrong and he has humor at the right times."

Teller couldn't stop gushing about the Star Wars veteran, who he claims is "a very big actor."

"Harrison Ford is a very big actor, when you see the facial expressions and the things he does he goes big, but he's just always the coolest guy in the room and he's got all of those great qualities," he concluded.

The Han Solo movie will be directed by The LEGO Movie's Phil Lord and Chris Miller and is scheduled for release on May 25, 2018.
