Israel Houghton Fired for Dating Adrienne Bailon? Worship Leader Speaks

Looks like Israel Houghton has been facing a lot of headaches this week after photos surfaced showing him having some fun with rumored girlfriend Adrienne Bailon. Now the Gospel singer has found himself in another storm speaking out about his position at Lakewood Church after rumors claimed that the worship leader was fired from Joel Osteen's church.

In a new post to Twitter, Houghton made it clear that he had not lost his job at the church.

He posted the official statement from Lakewood Church which read: "We can confirm that Israel is on indefinite leave, but it is important to clarify that we still consider Israel to be a part of the Lakewood family and that his employment has not been terminated," Lakewood Church said.

Houghton also put speculations about Bailon to rest claiming that she had nothing to do with his recent divorce from his wife of 20 years.

In that statement Houghton claimed that he and Bailon met over two years ago and had a friendship, and recently started dating each other. Houghton also cleared up the timeline of his past issues with his wife claiming that Bailon wasn't in the picture at that time.

MStars News previously reported that Bailon and Houghton were making headlines left and right this week when they finally appeared in public together while vacationing at the Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa in Tulum, Mexico.

The story became a hot topic because Houghton announced his divorce from Meleasa Houghton just one month ago. What's even crazier, Houghton sent his well wishes to Bailon when she was engaged to her former fiance, Lenny Santiago.
