It’s no secret that Gwyneth Paltrow is a huge a fan of natural beauty products and treatments, but her latest interview included a totally bizarre beauty tip. The Goop founder revealed her strangest skin care secret and there were bees (and their stingers) involved.

“I’ve been stung by bees,” the 43-year-old actress told The New York Times. “It’s a thousands of years old treatment called apitherapy. People use it to get rid of inflammation and scarring. It’s actually pretty incredible if you research it. But, man, it’s painful.”

Paltrow also shared some painless beauty secrets. When it comes to skin care, she likes to use her own creation from her Goop line. One thing the actress isn't willing try? Chemically made SPF creams. "I only use mineral sunscreens, never the chemical ones," she told the Times, naming Drunk Elephant, Coola and Honest as her go-tos. "I don’t understand why anyone would put on carcinogens."

Paltrow noted that she sticks with natural products but she will make an exception, however, when it comes to her hair, saying, “That’s the one area I can’t find a non-toxic product that works well.”

She also revealed that her 11-year-old daughter, Apple, is already obsessed with makeup and beauty.

“She watches YouTube,” Paltrow said. “She’s very vocal about what she likes and doesn’t like. I sort of let her do her own thing at home. She loves experimenting. I obviously don’t let her out of the house with a full face. But I think she’s going to be way more into beauty than I am.”
