Robert Pattinson's ex-lover Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult have portrayed two characters who find themselves distant with the society when a rare virus allows them to feel love towards each other in Drake Doremus science fiction romantic drama film, Equals.

The film's premises is based on human ideologies and the actor's abilities to portray those emotions is the most crucial part. But Hoult recently expressed that when they had to shoot some intense lovemaking scenes in the movie, his co-star, Stewart did not depict the rightful emotions.

In Equals, Hoult played the role of Silas, who becomes an outcast once he gets infected by a rare virus in the futuristic utopian society. After getting infected, he finds and inclination towards his co-writer Nia (played by Stewart), who, on the other hand, is infected by the virus but is trying to hide her condition. In order to survive from the new realms of the society, the couple finds solace in each other.

Twenty-six-year-old Hoult, who is most famous for playing the role of Beast in X-Men franchise, stated that when a film's basic ground is human behaviour then it is the actor's job to portray the powerful and intense love-making scene. However, he stated that he felt that the sex scenes which he shared with Stewart were not even enjoyable.

"In a way, it's very weird to do that type of scene," Hoult was quoted by The Bit Bag. "It was actually very weird the first time I watched the film. I was like, wow, that's me, but I feel I shouldn't be watching it."

Hoult further talked about the myth of shooting sex scenes in films. He stated that while shooting the lovemaking scenes, they were in a sound proof room, accompanied only by the sound operator and the camera operator.

On the other hand, Stewart is enjoying her PDA with her new girlfriend SoKo. The couple has been spotted together many a times in some romantic situations. So, does it mean that Stewart's love towards SoKo came in-between her profession? Well, one can only speculate over this.

Equals is scheduled for a May 26 release.
