Kelly Rowland on Parenting: "I Was Really Scared of Being a Mother"

When it comes to motherhood, and parenting, singer Kelly Rowland admitted that she was "really scared of being a mother" before her son Titan Jewell arrived.

During a chat with People, Rowland said: "When I found out that I was going to be a mother, I was the mother who didn't know that I had patience," Rowland to the magazine. "I was really scared about being a mother, just simply because I didn't think I had enough."

But as soon as the singer laid eyes on her son all her worries went away. "When my son was born, I was like, 'Oh my God, I don't know where this patience came from!'" she recalled while laughing. "I was really happy, and that made me feel better about being a mom."

If you think life with a toddler, aka a 17-month-old, is a piece of cake, think again. "When I go to the pediatrician and he shows me this whole list of how to keep my kid safe, I'm like, 'Wait a minute, I'm just learning how to breastfeed! I'm just learning how to do this, and I'm just learning how to do that. There's more instructions!?'"

Rowland's career hasn't stopped either. The former Destiny's Child star is currently working on her BET show, Chasing Destiny.

Rowland has her hands full trying to create a new girl group and trying to find the best ladies that will fit what she envisions.

While promoting the show, Rowland said the formula to a good girl group is the members. "The formula to a successful girl group to me is ... it really depends on the members. I think the members just really know who they are and what they bring to the group."
