DC Entertainment is changing the status quo with the death of archer Oliver Queen in Green Arrow #52. DC All Access speaks with with writer Benjamin Percy, who is about to change the course of the DC Comics Universe once more with the upcoming Rebirth.

According to the official DC Comics website, the Green Arrow is dead and Deathstroke has won. Now Slade Wilson will be returning to the states to deliver Dr. Miracle to the mysterious man known as Blood Bag. Meanwhile in Seattle, the war between the Berserkers and the Patriots has led to the Wargs being rounded up like prisoners and sent straight to internment camps. There will be an uprising among the Wargs!

As Bleeding Cool mentions, writer Ben Percy talks with Jason Inman of DC All-Access about the shocking events of Green Arrow #52. In the short video, Percy assures fans that they have not been reading a "lame duck" story. With Rebirth coming up, readers will still know what's going on and be able to catch up.

In an interview with Newsarama, Percy opens up about his upcoming Teen Titans comic in October, "Well, you know, one of the things I love about Teen Titans is that it's a turnstile of genres. I can write detective stories, I can write horror stories, I can write sci-fi fantasy stories, I can write comedy. Each of the characters are so different. They have their own vibe. They have their own aesthetic. And the story, as a result, is always fresh. It's always changing over, the possibilities of it."

Could Green Arrow #52 be foreshadowing what's to come in the season 4 finale of Arrow? In our recent recap, Damien Dhark (Neal McDonough) had setup John (David Ramsey) and Andy Diggle to fight while he went after Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson)'s Rubicon chip. With Thea (Willa Holland) kidnapped, Damien is close to his master plan, Genesis. As the two brothers fought, Andy promised he wouldn't stop chasing after John's wife and daughter until they were dead. After Andy played his mind games, John had no choice but to shoot and kill his own baby brother.

Is there a bigger death count coming soon?

Season 4 of Arrow continues on the CW Wednesdays at 8pm. The fourth season finale airs on May 25. Green Arrow #52 is out in stores now.
