'Fuller House' Season 2 Adds New Cast Members: Are the Olsen Twins Back?

Fuller House, Netflix's revival/reboot of the beloved 90s sitcom with a similar name, brought back some of the most beloved characters from the show, though Olsen twins Mary-Kate and Ashley were left out. Ahead of Season 2, we have news about the cast -- and while it's unclear whether Michelle Tanner will return, we will be meeting Uncle Joey's (Dave Coulier) family!

According to TVLine, we'll see the wife and children of Joey Gladstone in the next season of the show. The character's wife is called Ginger, and she's described as an "enthusiastic, upbeat, fun-loving magician" who is "a little clueless in the parenting department." Ginger will show up on the sixth episode of the next season, as the family's expected to join the ladies and kids for Thanksgiving dinner.

Besides a wife, it turns out Uncle Joey has four children, though the storyline including his family didn't make it to the first season of Fuller House. Ever since the start, show writers had planned that Joey had a family, but the 13-episode format kind of limited the amount of things that could show up on the first season; seeing as the show got renewed for a new season less than a week after it was available on Netflix, of course they had a chance to write the family here.

So far, there's no news regarding the new cast members, however; no actors have been announced to play the roles of Ginger and their children.

Coulier reprises his Full House role of Uncle Joey in the new version of the show. While he wasn't around for all 13 episodes of Fuller House, he did pop in for six, including one where he stays at the house all night to babysit the children, beating them at every game. Because of this, it does seem like a bit of a shock that he has such a big family all the way down in Vegas.

While the grown-up cast of the original Full House drops by in a few episodes of Fuller House, the show is very much about the three ladies who were children and teens in the 90s: Candace Cameron-Bure as DJ Fuller (née Tanner), Jodie Sweetin as Steph and Andrea Barber as Kimmy Gibbler. The show begins when, months after DJ's husband dies, her sister and childhood best friend move in with her to help raise her three boys.

Although they were invited to join alongside the rest of the cast, the Olsen twins didn't reprise their role as Michelle in the first season. So far it's unclear if they'll return this time around.
