A baby is checking into Seattle Grace hospital as one of the resident stars of Grey's Anatomy has just revealed that she is expecting. Caterina Scorsone, who plays Dr. Amelia Shepherd on the long running ABC medical drama, shared the exciting news earlier this month. The star and her husband, Rob Giles, are adding this bundle of joy to the family, which already includes their 4-year-old daughter, Eliza.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the star and her hubby are thrilled with the news, as they told the news outlet that they are "very, very excited," about the baby last week.

Scorsone showed up to the Disney/ABC Television Critics Association Party that was held at the Beverly Hilton last Thursday, where she was glowing as she showed off her tiny baby bump.

Fans have been buzzing about the pregnancy, wondering what this means for Scorsone's character on the show. Often on Grey's Anatomy when the stars are pregnant, creator Shonda Rhimes ties it into their storyline, like what she did for stars Ellen Pompeo and Sarah Drew, who plays April Kepner on the series.

"It'll be challenging. It's going to happen somewhere during the shooting season," Scorsone explained of her pregnancy, according to Us Weekly. "But Shondaland is the best place for that to happen."

However, she does reveal that she doesn't think that her baby bump will be written into the storyline.

"I don't think so. We're picking up the season immediately after we left off, which was the wedding where Amelia was not pregnant," she said, according to Daily News, adding that to keep her growing belly out of the shots it's going to call for "very fancy footwork for the director of photography."

She also teases what Amelia's relationship with Owen is going to be like during season 13, after they got married in the season 12 finale.

"So far, it's actually pretty sexy," the actress revealed of her new onscreen marriage, "but I imagine -- just knowing Shondaland and knowing life -- that they're going to have to figure their stuff out."
