The success of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has brought the rumors that a successor will be released soon. Tech buffs have been anticipating the release of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 next month, however, Microsoft did not announce launching of the Pro 5 in the event they recently had.

There have been a lot of speculations going around that the hybrid laptop/tablet gadget will be out by surprise this year because of a photo that was posted on Twitter by the app developer Shubhan Chemburkar. The photo was of a wall in Microsoft's Building 88, where a placeholder was placed in exchanged of the actual gadget with a 2016 tag, according to report.

However, there have been several reasons to believe that it will push for a 2017 release. Windows 10's major update will be released in spring next year. It just makes sense that the software update will happen first before the hardware is released so it could run on the latest version of the operating system.

There has also been a rumor that the Surface Pro 5 will run using Intel's newest processor, Kaby Lake. The processor though will not be released until the end of 2016, Neuro Gadget has said and so Microsoft has to hold on to their patience in getting the chipset when it's ready, before they can use on the gadget and release their product.

As per University Herald, the forecast is that the base unit of Surface Pro 5 will cost $899. Like other Microsoft products, there will also be versions with higher specs, which of course will come in higher prices. The version with Intel Core i7 is for $999 and the i7 Extreme will be up for grabs at $1,599.

Despite the never ceasing rumors and speculations about the product, Microsoft had remained silent about Surface Pro 5's release date.
