As the days leading up to the premier of Rogue One, theories and speculations about the upcoming Episode 8 are sprouting like mushrooms on the internet. Recent theories now revolve around the villains the Knights of Ren. What should be expected from this group on the franchise's eighth installment?

Warning: spoilers ahead.

One theory points out that the Knights of Ren, which Kylo Ren is a member of, will be one of the highlights of the film. As reported by International Business Times, which took the theory from Youtuber Mike Zeroh, the group will have a face-off with Jedi Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and his apprentice Rey (Daisy Ridley) on the planet Ahch-To. The report goes on suggesting that the Luke will be finishing off the Knights one by one, save for Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), who would be able to escape. The theory also points out that Kylo, son of Han Solo, might come out as the leader of the group.

The Knights of Ren were first seen in "The Force Awakens" through Rey's flashback visions. The site also notes that more flashbacks may appear on the upcoming film, scheduled for a December 2017 release. These flashbacks would reveal more about Luke, Rey and the Knights.

Another interesting theory that's popping up suggests that BB-8 may be working for the Dark Side. This comes from Morning Ledger, citing the theory from another Youtuber, Jenny Nicholson. This theory goes on saying that since BB-8 was made by a young Kylo Ren (back when he was still known as Ben Solo), the droid maybe serving as Kylo's spy, and may go back to his creator's side in the movie. The relationship between Kylo Ren and BB-8 is reminiscent of the one that Darth Vader and C3PO had. Fans of the original and prequel trilogies would remember that C3PO was made by a young Anakin Skywalker, who would later be known as Darth Vader.

The theories are starting to build up, but would they materialize once we see the final product? All will be known next December.
