Jessica Simpson's dad, Joe Simpson recovering from surgery for prostate cancer

Joe Simpson, the father of Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson, underwent a successful surgery for prostate cancer. Joe, who is a manager and former pastor and now a photographer, was apparently diagnosed with prostate cancer two months ago and had surgery to remove the tumor.

The news was confirmed by People Magazine as Joe Simpson's rep confirmed that the surgery was successful. A source told the magazine that Joe is feeling better and grateful for the support from his family and friends.

The current health scare reportedly had Joe looking into eating more healthily and getting more exercise.The source added that Jessica and Ashley were upset when heard about their father's prostate cancer diagnosis but they gathered their strength to send positive vibes and uplift Joe with their faith and love.

Joe Simpson Back to Work Despite Prostate Cancer Battle

After his operation, Joe Simpson has gone back to work. E Online reports that Joe is currently now pursuing his photography career. He is going to Japan to work on the cover of Nation-Alist magazine and several other campaigns. Before leaving the country, he recently shot a campaign for Clinique and worked with Eva Sambora and Brandi Glanville.

Joe held his first art show in Los Angeles just this year and it was a success and was praised by his loved ones. 

"Their joy makes me happy. As a father, it's not what your children do. It's who your children are and are they happy? That's the question you'll always ask," Joe told E! News.

He also had photographs of his daughters Jessica and Ashlee in the exhibit. Joe praised his daughters for being professional when he photographed them and for knowing how to pose for his photos.
