Shailene Woodley Gets Emotional While In Thanksgiving Protest Against DAPL Construction

The 25-year-old actress, Shailene Woodley can't handle her emotions. She is condemning Thanksgiving as she accompanied strikers' summons for the stoppage of Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) construction. It will be built on the fearful area of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, on the holiday.

"Today is a day that many call Thanksgiving, and it's a day where kids in elementary school in America are taught false narratives about our native brothers and sisters," the actress said in tears in an interview with TYT Politics.

She shared, while they were little kids, they cut out cardboard paper images of pilgrims, feasts and turkeys. "None of them know the truth about what happened to Native Americans when Westerners decided to colonize this country, but what is still happening to Native Americans."

The pipeline was initially designed to be augmented in Bismarck, North Dakota. It is where the "area of predominantly white American." Woodley clarified that despite the initial plan, it was relocated to a reservation. It was determined that a damage in the pipeline may harm their water reservoir.

The actress posted on her Instagram on Saturday that she aimed to join in a parade in Washington D.C. Sunday for the cause.

As per The New York Times, federal officials intend to seal entry to the protest campground specifying security matters. The authorities will shut down the section north of the Cannonball River.

It includes the Oceti Sakowin camp, about 40 miles south of Bismarck. It was where the objectors of 1, 170-mile Dakota Access Pipeline assembled for months. A person who will step into that place beyond Dec. 5 will be imposed with a trespassing complaint.

Woodley was captured in October while engaging in a protest against the building of the DAPL in North Dakota.
