Liev Schreiber finally shared his cordial separation from longtime partner, Naomi Watts.

The "Mental" actor was interviewed on CBS This Morning Thursday, December 1. He disclosed he picks his part in the "Broadway" rebirth of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses." As a father, it is essential to stay close with his sons.

"I prefer a job that would place me in New York and keep me in New York, and this was a job that was in the city, and I remained around my kids," he said. "The inconvenience is, there's no time to be with them on a theater schedule."

According to him, the transition about his split is really terrifying considering that he has two kids with Watts. It's certainly a big adjustment from their eleven years of life being with each other.

"But you know, we're both parents, so we'll be with each other for the rest of our lives no matter what, and we're very close." Schreiber then hopes that his harmonious relationship with Watts despite their split, will never be changed.

The ex-couple settled in a friendly breakup which is a good idea for the welfare of their kids, Sasha, 8, and Samuel, 7. In fact, they declared together their separation on People back in September.

One week following their breakup announcement, Watts shared a lovely photo on Instagram with Schreiber and their two sons. On that same week, the 49-year-old actor greeted Watts writing, "Happy Birthday Sweetheart."

Watts, also revealed on The Daily Telegraph Australia her emotion about their split. The 48-year-old "Shut In" actress said, she feels her life in a nice situation. She continued, "I want my kids to be always healthy and happy, and all things will become fine. Those are my hopes for me and for all of us."
