'Ready for Love' NOT Cancelled by NBC! Eva Longoria Denies Romance Rumors with Bachelor Ernesto, Tweets about Reality Dating Show's Status
Many rumors have been surfacing about the cancellation status of NBC's new reality dating show, Ready for Love, and the relationship status of the show's producer, Eva Longoria. The Desperate Houewives actress took to Twitter to set the record straight by revealing that she is NOT romantically involved with Ernesto (one of the "eligible" bachelors from the show's cast) and Ready for Love will continue to air new episodes.
When concerned fans tweeted at Longoria expressing their sorrow that the show was being pulled by the network, Eva decided to respond to one of the tweets on April 23rd.
In response to "NBC better not be cancelling 'Ready for Love'..." the actress responded "Just changing days!"
One of the hosts of the reality show, Guiliana Ranic, also helped clear up cancellation rumors by "retweeting" and responding to another upset follower:
"It's not! New night will be announced in next day or so:) RT @jessblanco11: Can't believe todays's the last episode of #ReadyForLove"
In addition, Tim Lopez from the band Plain White Tees, who is also one of the bachelors looking for love on the dating show, went into even further detail on his Twitter account with triple tweets which stated:
"For all those wondering, ready for love is not canceled and will be on this tues at the same time on nbc. Tune in, it's gonna be great!"
"There's a chance we might find an even better time slot for the show. Fingers crossed :)"
"At this point everything is moving forward. Dont believe all that's out there in the press. Need ya more than ever so tell your friends :)"
The Examiner recently reported that although "Ready for Love" is not going to be airing new episodes on NBC anymore, as stated in an announcement at the end of the April 23rd episode, fans will still be able to watch the show on NBC.com after this week. The show's status is still up in the air, as they continue to search for a new time slot and even a possible new network?
Rumors that E! would be picking up "Ready for Love" began when on Saturday, bachelor Ben Patton posted a confusing statement on his Facebook page:
"There are three types of people, those who say the glass is half empty, those who say the glass is half full and those, like Ernesto Arguello, Tim Lopez and I who are happy to have a glass! Thanks Ernesto Arguello!"
This post originally said thanks E! at the end instead of Ernesto Arguello, the Examiner reports. When Ben thanked E! it made everyone think that "Ready for Love" could end up on E! network (which is currently replaying the 3 episodes that already aired on NBC). Patton deleted that post and changed it to "Ernesto" instead of "E!", but fans who saw the original were buzzing about the possibility.
The original rumors that NBC was pulling the reality show, which has only aired 3 episodes thus far, first began after the airing of last Tuesday's episode brought back disappointing ratings. According to Hollywood Reporter, NBC stated in a press release last Friday that it is unclear where or when the remaining episodes of the Eva Longoria-produced dating show will air.
According to Radaronline, the dating show's premiere on April 10th only attracted 3.8 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demo. Despite having one of the strongest lead-ins on TV with The Voice, Ready for Love dropped significantly in its second airing. The follow-up episode averaged a 1.2 rating in the key demo and 3.2 million viewers. NBC has since planned to replace "Ready for Love" with "Grimm" in the Tuesday 10pm timeslot beginning April 30th.
This upsetting news had many fans worried that they would never find out which ladies the three adorable bachelors, Tim Lopez (from the band Plain White Tees), Ernesto Arguello (an entrepreneur from Miami), & Ben Patton (a philanthropist & businessman) would wind up with at the end of their quest for love.
Along with cancellation rumors, came reports from Life & Style claiming that bachelor Ernesto was apparently "ready for love" with show's producer, Eva Longoria. The two unexpectedly found each other on the show and were trying to see if they could work something out, according to their "sources." Eva once again cleared up the confusion on Twitter on Monday when she posted:
"Sorry @ernestoarguello is NOT dating me, but u can see who he is dating on #ReadyForLove tomorrow night on NBC after #TheVoice."
Despite the denial, TMZ caught the two out and about Sunday night in the car together hitting up Chateau Marmont in LA and then together again at the Soho House on Monday.
Still Longoria ruled out the rumored romance:
"WHAT?! AGAIN? Sorry guys, still not dating @ernestoarguello Who are these 'sources'??
Eva's rep also chimed in and told E! News, "Eva is not dating Ernesto. She is friends with all of the guys and matchmakers from the show, but nothing further."
Apparently Eva & Ernesto are extremely close friends as Life & Style said the pair was spotted leaving LAX last week and driving to her place as a source saw Eva "put her head on his shoulder as he drove."
Daily Mail also has reported that Ernesto is allegedly living with Longoria, along with their third "roommate" and other cast member Tim Lopez.
Apparently Ernesto didn't need the help of the three professional matchmakers (who advise contestants on the show) after all since he and Eva seem to have found a perfect match on their own...
As for the other two bachelors, Tim and Ben, we can watch the studs complete their journey as new episodes continue to air Tuesday nights on NBC.com. For now, the search continues to see which time slot or network is "Ready for Love."
