The xx and Sia have released their contributions to the much buzzed about The Great Gatsby soundtrack. The Baz Luhrmann film is getting a lot of press surrounding it's Jay-Z produced soundtrack which will include a cover of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" by Beyonce and Andre 3000 as well as new music by acts like Florence + The Machine. Tracks from the album have been steadily rolling out over the last several weeks and today, we have a twofer with The xx dropping "Together" and Sia's deceptively titled "Kill and Run."

Let's start with The xx. Their track "Together" is nothing new. A sparse, minimal (if catchy) beat lures you into the song before the duo sigh all over it.

I may lose cool points for this, but I can't stand The xx. All of their music is just ominous notes followed by long exhalations. It's like that guy no one wants to hang out with anymore because all he does is bring you down discovered a looping pedal and a guitar that can only be played with two fingers at a time. However, if you like The xx, this is more of the same from them. I will say the beat to this one is rather nice.

Next, we have Sia in the middle of a banner day. First, her song she wrote for Beyonce is premiered via H&M ad, then her solo work drops onto the interwebs. Unlike "Together" , "Kill and Run" is lush and cinematic. Sia's vocals layered over string and piano accompaniament sounds like a long-lost, low-key Bond theme (that's a very good thing):
