2016 was an amazing year for the Xbox brand according to Mike Nichols, who the Microsoft's corporate Vice President of Xbox is marketing.

In a new post on the official Xbox Wire, Nichols thanked the Xbox community for their support and engagement throughout the 2016 year.  "We were privileged to celebrate the 15-year anniversary of Xbox in November, but what made 2016 most special was laying out our vision for gaming at E3 2016, and  delivering a new version of Xbox One along with great new games and services for you to play on the device of your choice", Nichols said.

He further added, "In fact, in November and December, we saw Xbox Live engagement reach an all-time high of 3.9 billion hours, up 23 percent compared to the prior year. Thank you!"

In his post, Microsoft's VP of Xbox marketing, also mentioned the upcoming release of the Xbox Scorpio, and the launch of a "terrific" portfolio of new games, which is coming this spring.

However, NeoGAF users have recently posted a new picture that is coming from CES 2017, apparently showing an Xbox Scorpio presentation along within AMD's Vega/Ryzen booth. Existing as 'the new horizon' for 4K gaming and Virtual Reality, it appear that these could potentially be the two main selling points that Microsoft are looking for a focus on for their new forthcoming console.

Microsoft Xbox Project Scorpio was unveiled by the Redmond, Washington based tech giant during E3 2016. Microsoft has also promised that the upcoming gaming console will have 6 TFLOPs of graphical computing performance, as well as a 4K HDR game play.

Besides these, tech giant did not share more details about the upcoming gaming console. However, rumors and speculations about Microsoft's Xbox Project Scorpio spread throughout the internet.

A report from Alphr says that, upcoming gaming console is built for Virtual Reality. The tech company is now working with Oculus on the gaming system, and Microsoft clears it out that they really take the VR integration.

The upcoming Xbox Project Scorpio is also said to be better compared to its competitors. It is fixed as fact that this upcoming gaming system is faster and powerful than the PlayStation 4 Pro.
