First ‘Glacier White’ PS4 Slim console to hit market starting Jan. 24

Sony revealed the first color variant for the PS4 Slim - Glacier White - and it looks amazing.

This is a very exciting opportunity for PlayStation 4 buyers, since they don't always get the chance to buy their first consoles in any color other than black. The original model of PS4 was available in white for a limited time when it was released in 2014 as a way of celebrating the release of Bungie's Destiny. Any other versions in other colors have been closely related to the launch of a specific game - like the famous Metal Gear Solid V version in red and gold - or other special events like PlayStations 20th anniversary.

The Verge reports that it will be available as a 500GB model with matching DualShock 4 controller and will be out on January 24 in Europe for €299 / £259. It will then hit Japan on February 23, where a 1TB variant will also be available and will cost around 34,980 yen and the 500GB variant for 29,980 yen.

PS4 Slim is a cheaper, much slimmer version of the PS4 released in 2014. Aside from the paint job, there is no recognizable difference between the console and its Jet Black counterpart (except that it is slimmer, hence the name). However, there will be no doubt that the PS4 Slim will be offered in a range of exclusive bundles, Engadget reports.

As well as a white chassis, Sony's new console also comes with a new white DualShock 4 controller, which appears to feature the updated lightbar seen on the PS4 Pro's controller. It surely is a collector's item. There is currently no word for the US release of the PS4 Slim.
