Everyone got giddy when acclaimed author and producer of the "Game of Thrones" series, George R. R. Martin, actually answered a reader question about "Winds of Winter" last Tuesday. "Winds of Winter" is scheduled sixth book in the "Song of Ice and Fire" saga that inspired HBO's hit show "Game of Thrones."

The fan, writing on Martin's blog, asked: "I respect you immensely and do not want you to rush or release anything until you are completely satisfied with it. That being said, it has been a whole year since we have received an update. You have placated our hunger with another superb sample and for that, we are grateful. But unless you want to be bombarded with (messages) like this, I would suggest another update."

Unexpectedly, Martin himself actually responded althought it was ambigous and had left full of hopes. "Not done yet, but I've made progress," Martin wrote. "But not as much as I hoped a year ago, when I thought to be done by now. I think it will be out this year. (But hey, I thought the same thing last year)."

"Game of Thrones" readers and fans have been waiting for "The Winds of Winter" since 2011. That was when "A Dance With Dragons," book five in the saga was released. And now, some fans hoped Martin was just on a five-year cycle. However, 2016 just passed and no book was released.

It can be remembered that Amazon France embarassingly put an incorrect listing on Amazon France  back in September. The listing claimed that "Winds" would be release in spring 2017, but that rumor proven false.

"Game of Thrones" TV series have only two seasons left that made everyone worry of the ending. The HBO show has been noticed  not to diligently follow some part of the plot to Martin's written works. The next season will likely to start mid-2017, whether or not "Winds of Winter" has blown onto bookstore shelves.
