Among the most popular albums of 2016 were Adele's "25" and Drake's "Views". But which really came out on top?

According to Yahoo!, Adele's third album "25", made it into Number 1 and has sold over 1,684,000 copies in 2016, on top of the 7,441,000 copies sold in 2015 (where the album was also ranked No. 1 for the year). This is the fourth time that Adele became the year's top-selling album.

Number 2 comes Drake's "Views", which sold over 1,579,000 copies since its release in April 2016. This is Drake's fifth time making it into the year's top 10. This is Drake's highest year-end ranking up to date, overtaking "If You're Reading This It's Too Late", which finished No. 5 for the year 2015.

Number 3, we have Beyonce's critically acclaimed surprise album "Lemonade", which has sold over 1,527,000 copies since its release in April 2016. This is the eighth time Beyoncé has had an album that made it in the year's top 10, counting two albums she recorded with Destiny's Child. This was also her highest ranking to date, with her former best that was shared by "Dangerously in Love" (No.6 for 2003) and "Beyoncé" (No. 6 for 2014).

Number 4, we have Chris Stapleton's "Traveller" that sold 1,042,000 copies in 2016 on top of the 685,000 it sold in 2015 where it ranked at just No. 14. This is the highest ranking for a country album since 2013, when Luke Bryan's "Crash My Party" was the year's No. 3 album.

Number 5, we have the "Hamilton" original cast album. It sold 739,000 copies in 2016 on top of the 196,000 it sold on 2015 where it ranked No. 110 for the year. By far, this is the highest ranking for a Broadway cast album in the Nielsen Music Era.

The other 5 are as follows: No.6 "Blurryface" by Twenty One Pilots, sold 678,000 copies; No. 7 "The Very Best of Prince" by Prince and sold 660,000 copies; No. 8 "A Pentatonix Christmas" by Pentatonix, sold 639,000 copies; No. 9 "Anti" by Rihanna that sold 591,000 copies and lastly; No. 10 "Purpose" by Justin Beiber that sold 543,000 copies over 1,269,000 million in 2015.
